2023 Edition : Sustainable aviation fuel front and center, highlighting industry’s net-zero carbon focus.

Two weeks ago, Geneva Airport (GVA) made sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) available, and its usage was promoted at the 2023 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE). SAF, a game-changing fuel that has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional fuels, was supplied by Jet Aviation, a fixed base operator, for EBACE2023. Avfuel Corporation also contributed by adding its supply of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation FuelTM to airports in Arkansas, Kansas, and Florida for flights to EBACE. Furthermore, a book-and-claim transaction option allowed aircraft operators to purchase SAF even when it wasn’t physically available at the departure airport. The availability and use of SAF were highlighted as a key focus at EBACE2023, showcasing the industry’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions. The event served as a platform for promoting sustainable aviation fuels and environmental responsibility in business aviation.

Aircraft news…

Aircraft manufacturers made a series of announcements, with Textron Aviation unveiling the Cessna Citation Ascend and Airbus Corporate Jets introducing the ACJ TwoTwenty, Bombardier showcasing the Challenger 3500, and Gulfstream presenting the G800 aircraft. The event highlighted how business aviation is reinventing flight technology to serve new customers, take on new missions, and connect the world sustainably. The focus was on innovation, efficiency, and achieving net-zero flight through advancements in fuels, propulsion systems, and technologies. The industry leaders and trailblazers at EBACE demonstrated the possibilities of today and shaped the shared vision for tomorrow, emphasizing teamwork and inclusion in driving the future of business aviation.
